Samsung dryer, sensor dry shuts off after a few minutes

    Model Number: DV419AEW/XAA
    Brand: Samsung
    Age: 1-5 years

My Samsung dryer, DV419AEW/XAA, works fine on timed dry, but shuts off after a few minutes when put on sensor dry. I've replaced the sensors and the main control board, but it continues to act the same. It will start out displaying that it has, for example, 42 minutes, and will later advance from around 40 straight to 1 minute and then stop at the end. Any suggestions?

Since you have replaced the sensor and the control board I would suspect a open connector or wire.

Hopefully you have the wiring diagram.
Clean the sensor with isopropyl alcohol.
Disconnect the sensor plug at the control board.
Use a high resistance scale on your meter and read the sensor resistance.
It should read a very high resistance or infinite resistance.
Now place a wet/damp rah over the sensor and the resistance should drop.
If not there is a bad wire etc and the unit always thinks that the clothes are dry.

    I couldn't get any resistance.

When I touch my probes together, I get a response.
I found a wiring diagram and believe I'm working with the orange and pink wires on a 4 wire plug.

I get no response when I use a wet towel over the sensors.

And, I also go no response when i touch one probe to a sensor and the other to either wire. I tried this with both sensors and both wires.

Is it possible that both wires are bad?

I noticed that the wires are white at the sensors. Where would they convert to orange and pink?

It would be highly unlikely but it sound like that is what is happening.
Have you tried just measuring the wires when disconnected from the sensor?

You have to pull the sensor unit usually the white wires are about a foot long.

The following may help but I am not sure that the model is a match to yours.

    Thanks for your help!
I hate to admit this but I did not seat the wiring harness correctly when I replaced a thermistor a while back the video link was perfect!
    Issue is resolved.
    Thanks again!

    You are welcome

All that matters is that you found it and are up and running.
