    Samsung DV306lew hE code

    Model Number: Dv306lew
    Brand: Samsung
    Age: 6-10 years

First dryer was in a flood last year, probably 6" in bottom for an hour or two

Just started with he code. Will run for about 10 seconds then shut off. Things I have checked

    No air obstruction
    Element resistance 10.2
    High limit resistance .1
    Thermal cut off. .1 ohm
    Element not shorted to housing
    249 at outlet

Thermister measured from blue and red wire in harness at control board, 10.4k room temp was over 80(summer in fl)

Cant remember if i tested relay, so will go back to that one.. trying to figure out what to order or call scap guy!

    Thanks

    Everything looks good.

Try an air only cycle if you get heat then you know that either the relay contacts are welded together or the control electronics are bad.
If you have heat then unplug the unit and the relay/heater connector at the board and check across the relay contacts, should be infinite ohms.

Also sgeck the connections at the thermistor and the board, Could be that a bad connection is heating up and opening causing the error.

    No heat on fluff
    Relay .49Kohms off
    Measure voltage accross on fluff

This morning after unplugged 24 hrs, it heats up. Sounding like harness or board? Will keep testing it. Thamk you for the great resource

Follow up, went back in a few hours, no heat.

Unplugged, pulled harness to thermister at board. Fitting looks good. Plugged back in and heat....even without heat I still had power past the relay and I can hear it clicking. Not sure if there is another relay i could be hearing.

In runnng on a timed cycle, it ran way past the allotted time, so the clock was not realtime.

I would assume this means the board is bad?

Yes it does sound like the board is bad.

FYI: When the dryer is running you will always see power (120 volts) at the heater if checking it to ground.
This is because the centrifugal switch on the motor switches on the L2 voltage.
The relay contacts then switch in the L1 voltage to the other end of the heating coil.
