A large amount of water remains in the tub after cycle, to the point it spills out when the door is opened. I have removed the dishwasher from the cabinet, and have verified the following items:
- Water runs through the drain hose freely from one end to the other
- With the drain hose connected to the drain pump, and the other end downhill of the unit, I poured water in the tub. The water all flowed out the drain hose into a bucket.
- With the drain hose connected to the drain pump, and the other end of the drain hose positioned "uphill" to simulate where it connects to the sink drain, poured water in the tub, started the unit, cancelled cycle, and the drain pump ran, but didn't push any water out of the drain hose.
- Removed drain hose and started the unit, cancelled cycle and verified the the impeller in the drain pump is spinning.
From all the research I've done, it seems that when a dishwasher isn't draining, it is either a blockage, or a drain pump that's inoperative due to a lodged foreign object or just due to failure.
Based on the fact water flows freely from the tub through the drain hose into a bucket, I'm ruling out blockage? And with the fact the pump impeller is spinning, it seems that my pump is fully operational.
I'm hoping someone can help me figure out what I'm missing.
Thanks!
Andy
