Dryer door latch

I need to replace the latch on the dryer door. I have the latch, but it looks like I must (1) attach/anchor the latch to the inside of the cover, and (2) then screw the cover onto the frame with the two metric Phillips crews. I can't see how to do step one...anyone ever done this?
