[FIXED] Ice maker removal - GE Profile French Door ice maker

    Model Number: DA97-07365A
    Brand: Samsung
    Age: 6-10 years

Trying to unplug connector pin to old ice maker to install new one. Connector pin will not unplug. Is the bottom half of the plastic connector supposed to come out and the top half remains in the refrig housing? Is there something you have to squeeze or push to remove the plastic wire harness? Won't budge.

    Hi,

To remove the electrical plug from the wall of the refrigerator you just have to depress the locking tab and pull to remove.

Thank you for the advice! Worked fine. New ice maker started making ice within two hours- filled bin about 3/4 then stopped making ice. The ice is about 2 in below the cutoff arm, so not sure why it stopped. Any ideas? Thanks, again!

The ice maker has to cool down to make ice. So leaving it alone for 24-48 is usually the best thing to do to get it to make ice the quickest. The more you open up the ice maker compartment, the longer it will take. It has to start over and cool the compartment back down again before it will make more ice.
