    Pump not working after replacement

    Model Number: SHU9955UC/12
    Brand: Bosch
    Age: More than 10 years

Dishwasher was not pumping water forcefully. Impeller appeared to be busted. Dishwasher is 20 years old, so I replaced the entire motor assembly, which includes the impeller. Labeled all wires before removing and replaced wires on same terminals as old motor. Now when I turn the washer on, the only noise is a hum from the large capacitor attached to the motor assembly.

    What could be wrong--wiring? etc.

It could be wired wrong or defective. Can you turn the pump impeller by hand?

Yes, impeller turns. I returned wires to same lugs on new motor as the old

Have you tried reinstalling the old pump to see if that one runs or just hums?
