    Roper Electric Dryer Timer CLIPS

    Model Number: RED4640YQ0
    Brand: Roper
    Age: 6-10 years

My dryer's TIMER had clips that were very hard to remove from the plastic tabs and of course I broke one of the metal tabs. My question is where do I find replacement metal tabs because I just placed the part with only the knob holding the Timer part in place. So far it works! Thanks

Thank you for the pictures. Do you have any pictures that show where these go on the dryer?

Hi Ryan, here are some pictures were the clips go into the Dryer Timer. On the dryer itself are some white plastic prongs that the clips dig into to hold it. But I now have another problem with the Timer. It will not stop. I put it on timed dry and it turns all the way to cool down like normal but I woke up this morning and the dryer was still running. I just put the new part in this Monday. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

They don't list those clips as a part that they sell separately. I am thinking you might have to buy the whole rear console of the dryer to get those clips. Did you replace the timer with a new one? What kind of problem were you having with the original timer?

I am not going to replace the whole rear console of the dryer to just get those clips. I will figure something else out or just go ahead and have a repairman come out to find out what is going on.

Yes I did buy a new Dryer Timer from PartsDr and swapped it out this past weekend.

My original problem was the clothes dryer would only heat and dry clothes on the Auto Timer. I would turn the knob one complete turn and it would work fine by drying the clothes and even the dryer would turn off at least for awhile but then it finally would continue to turn but would not have any heat.

So, I replaced the Roper dryer heating element, dryer thermal fuse, dryer thermal fuse-(Dryer heating element thermal cut-off (thermal fuse with wiring kit), Dryer cycling thermostat with internal bias heater. About $200.00 so far.

After replacing all these parts my dryer will not shut off so I tell Alexa to remind me to take the clothes out of the dryer in 60 mins. So far that works but is very annoying. My theory/opinion is that the timer I bought is defective and I should return it and get a new one. But if you have another idea that would be great. Thanks
