Whirlpool super capacity 465 electric oven door hot to touch

    Model Number: RF3020XKQ1
    Brand: Whirlpool
    Age: More than 10 years

As the subject states, the oven door all of the sudden gets very hot to the touch. I performed a minor repair to fix the handle that had fallen off. I unscrewed the top two screws holding the outside of the door to the inside of the door. I left the insulation in place, located the screws that had fallen into the door and replaced the handle and then the two screws holding the door together.

The next two uses the door has been very hot to the touch. I'm not talking warm and bearable, I'm talking could potentially burn your hand hot.

I can't figure out what would cause this. Is there anything I can check or do that would help resolve this?

Check to see if the door is sealing OK now.
Perhaps it is not and escaping hot air is heating up the door.
    This is probably OK.

Remove the door from the unit.
Place it with outside down on a towel etc. with the handle over the side ot the counter.
    Remove the inner panel.
Check that the insulation has not moved, look like there are 4 pieces in the door.
