A complete model number maybe useful.
You are nmissing 3 or 4 digits after the 8.

Some unit have a thermal fuse mounted on or near the control board.
Remove power from the unit and check the fuse it should be 0 ohms.
Many replacements are a kit with the fuse and a couple leads/wires that must be used when replacing the fuse.

I think I found it it was circular and measured zero ohms.

Just to be sure you found the right device it is in the control panel (door).

Since it is OK next would be to check that the unit is getting power
and that the wire nut connections are good.

Unit does have power, would you recommend a new control Panel?

My first thought would be the control board and then the control panel.

Carefully check the ribbon cable that runs between the two for any broken tracks etc.

Usually when it is a control panel some of the buttons and/or lights still work but it is a gamble.

Also I do not have a schematic for that unit so have no way of suggesting how you could check it.

When I do a diagnostic test the lights do come on and the machine runs, once the test is over all the lights shut down and the dishwasher won't start.

I do not have the tech sheet.

Did the diags allow you to use all or most of the keyboard keys?
if yes the I still think the control board is the most likely culprit.

There is an outside possibilty that a door witch is not closing but on most units this kills power to the moto and it ran in diags so I would guess they are OK.

While the diags is running the buttons light up but are inoperable. I believe the door latch is fine because the dishwasher goes through its cycles.

Since you were able to run the diags I assume that you have the tech sheet.

Many tech sheets also give info on the pinouts from the keyboard so that you can check the keys with a meter.

If you have this I would check the keys and if all OK then replace the control board.
