    Refrigerator and Freezer not cold

    Model Number: mfc2062fez01
    Brand: Maytag
    Age: 1-5 years

My french door refridgerator/freezer is too warm and there is ice buildup on the back wall of the freezer. Followed all trouble shooting tips to no avail. Fridge is running 48 and freezer is 18 degrees. Are there parts I can test before replacing the motherboard. It is 16 months old... installed Feb. 2017

Remove the rear panel in the freezer and check the evaporator coils.
Sounds like you may have a defrost problem.
If the coils are clogged solid with frost/ice so that the evaporator fan cannot pull air through them then it is a defrost problem.

This could be caused by the defrost heater, defrost thermostat or the control board.

Check in the compressor compartment for a tech sheet it may tell you how to force a defrost cycle.
Then if it defrosts you know the control board is at fault re: the heater and thermostat must be OK.
