Our ice maker makes ice fine. The Auger Motor actually does work when thawed (moves grinders actively as long as flap is being pushed) until freezer temperature reaches freezing, then it will "sound" like it is starting but stops after just few seconds.
I suspect there is water in the motor unit itself- is that possible?
I've had the freezer compartment apart enough to see the motor, dried it with a hair dryer (did this twice, 1 year in between) and in between that I left it unplugged empty x 2 months.
The motor acts normally (at room temperature) for ~12 hours, before ice ready to be dispensed, then only grunts and stops in 2 seconds.
Thank you for any advice,
