    Samsung dryer not heating

    Model Number: samsung dv422ewhdwr/aa
    Brand: Samsung
    Age: 1-5 years

Our dryer was not fully drying our clothes and then completely stopped heating. We took it apart and found the element was broken, but to be safe replaced the whole heating assembly. It worked for the first load and the the 2nd stopped heating again. What can I do to fix this?

You will need a multimeter and some knowledge on how to use it.

    First check the power.
Otherwise you could rip the unit apart, spend hours on it only tofind out it is a power problem.

Try flipping the breaker off/on slowly, sometimes you can loose half the line without actually tripping the breaker.
If this does nothing, check the voltage at the plug
    L1 to L2 should be 240 volts
L1 to Neutral and L2 to Neutral, both should be 120 volts.
    If OK
Unplug the unit and check the wires at the terminal strip in the machine to make sure none are loose or burned out
    If OK
Check the power at the terminal strip.
Be careful as 240 volts is lethal !!!

Next open the unit up and check the hi-limit thermostat and thermal fuse on the heater assembly. Both should be 0 ohms.
If OK then check the heater element it should be 8 to 12 ohms.

Note that if you did not clean the inside of the unit including the blower wheel you should do that.
    Also clean/check the vent system.

Hopefully you found the tech sheet in the unit.
