In trying to fix a problem with drainage and accumulation of rotting food absolutely everywhere inside the dishwasher, something happened to the wash pump.
It now grinds away whenever it is engaged. Something may have been pushed down the inlet into the pump.
I've already ordered a new pump kit, but I want to investigate the old pump before replacing it with new.
If I get it off, is it possible to look into it at all?
Plus, online videos suggest I lie the machine on its back to get at the pump, while the repair manuals say to lift out the whole sump assembly from inside to get at it. Which is better?
Thanks.
