Maytag 9000 getting F28 error code

I understand that this code is a communication error from the CCU to the MMU boards, but I also understand that the Water Conrol Sensor can cause this issue as well. Any assistance would be appreciated. Thanks

I am assuming that you have already unplugged the unit for a few minutes to see if it will reset.

I have unplug the unit many times including overnight. I have check wires and sprayed with connector cleaner. I have replace the door latch switch. Have tried a new MMU control and still receive an F28 message. I can turn the machine on and it goes to the point of locking the door and then it sits idle for about 5 minutes and then gives the F28 error message. Some mentioned that the Water sensing control may think there is water in the tub not allowing it to move to a fill mode. This little sensor costs about $119 and I don't want to replace it unnecessarily. Help!
