Model Number: KSC24C8EYY02
Brand: KitchenAid
Age: 6-10 years

Kitchenaid KSC24C8EYY02 just hit 6 year mark and slowly began to warm on refrigerator side (45-50) as well as freezer side (17) and is icing behind the produce drawers. Cleaned coils and had repair person came and couldn't figure out what issue was, said it was probably a bad main control board but said we could start with trying to replace the thermistor to see if that would work after letting unit defrost for 24 hours.

Tried that and it seemed to work but then it went back to being too warm and freezing. Called another person and they said it might be best to trash and buy a new refrigerator. I really don't want to go this route but am at a loss for what to do. Seems crazy to have to throw away a $2500 6 year old refrigerator but I don't want to keep spending money on repairs that don't solve the issue. Could I need a new evaporator fan? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
