Whirlpool Duet dryer keeps blowing thermal fuse [FIXED]

    Model Number: WED9200SQ0
    Brand: Whirlpool
    Age: 1-5 years

I have a whirlpool dryer that keeps blowing the thermal fuse (3392519). I have replaced it two times and it only lasted a day before it blew again. Any ideas on what could be causing this?

Check to see if the heating element is shorted. To do this you will need to check for continuity from one of the heating element terminals to ground. A properly working heating element will NOT have continuity to ground.

Ryan, the heating element is shorted out. What would cause this?

A shorted out heating element is usually caused from the heating element getting too hot. This is commonly caused by a clogged/blocked dryer vent or a bad sensor/thermostat in the dryer. I would recommend replacing the heating element, thermistor (sensor), and thermal fuse.

This is the heating element for your model:
    Heating Element - 8544771

Here is the thermistor for your model:
    Thermistor Control - 8577274

Here is the thermal fuse for your model:
