    Refrigerator/Freezer not cooling.

    Model Number: RF263TEAESG/AA
    Brand: Samsung
    Age: 1-5 years

My refrigerator stopped working and the display panel posted an E-23 code. The technician claimed this was the Condenser Fan Motor Assembly. The blades on the fan were not turning and he played with for a bit and got it to turn ever so slowly. He said that was not sufficient to do it's job. He said he would order the part. 10 days went by, I called the repair shop and was told it was never ordered. I told them not to bother and I would get someone else. I found your site and ordered the part (DA97-15765C). I am not mechanical at all, but after watching a video, it gave me the confidence to try it. The part arrived today and I put it in, no problem. Plugged it in and it was turning like a champ. I did not replace the panel cover so I could monitor it. After about an hour the fan stopped and the frig went silent. Because I am not mechanical, I was wondering if the part may be defective or based on what I have told you and the error code could it be something else? Thank you in advance for your time and assistance.

Don't panic, give it some time.
You may have just gone into a defrost cycle.
Both fans and the compressor will shut off.
Defrost usually takes about half an hour.

Do not leave the cover off for too long.
It helps direct the air over the evaporator coils to cool it properly.

Thanks for the quick response. I have plugged it back and it worked immediately. It ran for 44 minutes and the fan shut-off again. I walked away for a bit, leaving it plugged in and lo and behold it came back on in 13 minutes later. I guess I assumed that the thing would run non-stop for quite awhile since it has been off for almost 3 weeks. I didn't realize it would cycle like that. I will continue to monitor and replace the cover. Thanks again.
