New Timer and New Heating Element, Dryer timer not moving and also not heating

    Model Number: ?
    Brand: Kenmore
    Age: Old

I have an old Kenmore dryer. The drum spins, but the timer will not advance, and it never gets hot. I have tested all of the heat sensors continuity with a multi-meter and they all seemed to be working. I tested the old heating element and even though it seemed to be fine I went ahead and replaced it. I also replaced the timer, and taken the fan cover out that leads to the lint trap and thoroughly cleaned it. At my wits end here, what am I missing? I am attaching the wiring diagram, any suggestions would be GREATLY appreciated!

Update: Turns out the red wire coming off the plug cable in the back had disintegrated due to what appears to be a shoddy repair job some time in the past.
