My Samsung refrigerator started out getting confused between crushed and cubes (it would give you broken ice when asking for cubes). Then it stopped making ice completely. I turned off the function, but before I did, it was making a rhythmic low whirring noise, as if it were trying to drop ice. A local repair man said the ice maker was broken, but I don't really trust him (I live out of the US), and I'm thinking it may actually be the auger motor. Does anyone have any idea how I could determine which part needs replacing, as I would prefer not to have to pay for both if I only need one. Thanks for any help you can provide.
