Last night my dishwasher stopped mid cycle.

When I opened it up to look at the control board, I noticed that some of the electrical tape that had bound the wires together had melted and had gone over part of the control board. I have noticed this melting a long time ago when I opened it up for a different reason.

I believe that running the high temperature wash, along with having our hot tap water being very hot already, created a lot of heat, melting the electrical tape over time.

I am wondering if this could have blown the thermal fuse or could have damaged the control board. I ordered a multi meter to try to test the fuse.

I am looking for some advice on logical steps I can take for solving this problem in a safe way.

Thanks for any help.
