I have a Samsung refrigerator, 4 door, model RF23J9011SR/AA-04
It has the typical problem with the Ice Maker freezing.
Samsung has issued a service bulletin to fix this issue which calls for the main board to be replaced.
All parts come as an Ice Maker Service Kit shipped by Samsung.
In addition, Samsung recommends sealing the ice box with a special sealant.
I got such Kit which is supposedly compatible with my model.
I got kit DA82-02642A.
The kit came special Y-clips, a new Ice Maker unit, a new ring for the coil and a new main board.
I also purchased a revised version of the auger motor and sealant.
I did the sealing job and adjusted the tubing in the back.
All parts fit well except for the main board.
The board shipped with the kit was: DA41-00827B
The refrigerator’s original board is: DA41-00827A
But, the new main board in the kit does not have the right connectors in two places. One of the long connectors on the left of the board is shorter and missing posts that actually have wires on the refrigerator harness. And a small connector on the right is extra long, but seems this one is just ground but not sure.
Parts Dr. lists yet another board model: DA92-00606E
This one looks right because from the picture it looks like it has all needed connectors.
Is this just a mistake by Samsung with the Kit?? Or am I missing something here?
The refrigerator is operating and making ice after replacing all other parts. But I am not yet sure if the Main Board is important for a complete fix. It’s only been 3 days since I replaced parts.
Attached pic is of the wrong board shipped with the kit (wrong connectors circled in red)
Any insight appreciated!
