Lately my 30 year old GE top freezer refrigerator has the following symptoms: top freezer below zero, but the fridge does not go below 45 F even at the coldest setting. This is the testing I have done:

1. Tested the defrost timer. It turns on and the the contacts to the defrost heater and the compressor.
2. Tested the defrost heater for continuity. It is OK.
3. The fan operates OK.
4. Examined the evaporator coils for ice. No ice at all.
5. Examined the air duct from the freezer to the fridge. No obstructions. It is currently set at minimum air for the freezer.
6. Examined the air duct in the fridge. Cold air comes out but I don't know if the air-flow is normal or not.

At this point, I am out of ideas. Any thoughts out there?

Thanks.
