    oven lower element mounting tabs

    [b]Model Number: 155.4547700
    [b]Brand: Kenmore
    [b]Age: 45

I just purchased an oven element and the mounting tabs were bent in shipping. I've straightened them as best I could, however, there is a slight gap between the oven back wall and the tab in spots since I couldn't get the stainless steel tab to flatten out 100% like new. It holds the element in place securely. Is it safe to use, or must the element mounting tabs be perfectly flat?
I was concerned that heat could escape from the slight gap.
    Thanks for any advice.
(pictures loaded sideways, the tabs are attached to the back wall of the oven).
