Model Number: MVWX600XW0
Brand: Maytag
Age: More than 10 years

My Maytag Bravos MVWX600XW0 washer has began to make a loud humming noise when spinning. It sounds like a jet taking off. I have done lots of research and determined that it is due to a bad tub bearing. Because this machine is belt-driven and not direct-drive, it appears that I would have to replace the entire gearbox because the bearing isn't sold separately. The gearbox/transmission part#W11132267 prices online range from $175-320. I'm not afraid of taking this machine apart, actually I have taken it apart multiple times to fix MULTIPLE other issues with it. I have put more money than I would like to into this thing. The machine is 10 years ago and I am on the verge of replacing it.........but like most of the world, I am cheap and want to fix it myself. Is there any chance that I could find bearings sold separately and replace the ones within my existing gearbox/transmission?
