Model WM0642HW front load washer. This washer seemed to work ok, but with a slightly funny noise with no clothes in the washer. As soon as we put a few clothing items in the washer it wouldn't agitate properly, it would only rock the tub back and forth. During the spin cycle it started making a horrible loud clunking/grinding noise. The washer displayed NO error codes.

I started by taking off the rear panel. I noticed the bolt holding on the rotor looked a little bit loose. I removed the bolt and found that the plastic hub splines that slide onto the washer tub shaft were completely stripped out. I replaced the rotor assembly, the new rotor came with a metal insert where the old one was plastic. That should prevent this from happening again!
