Hello,
We recently experienced a problem with our circulation pump after we noticed water was entering dishwasher and draining, but not being circulated to actually clean the dishes (the metal mesh on the filter inside was completely shredded). At the same time, since we already had it apart, we checked the water valve, drain pump, checked float switch and float, cleaned sump, spray tube feed (upper and lower), and cleaned turbidity sensor. Nothing else seemed wrong, so we purchased a new circulation pump assembly since the filter was clearly bad, replaced it, and it ran fine for a couple days. Then, it started making a very loud buzzing sound, but doesn't do it until partway through the wash cycle. This did not happen prior to the pump replacement. We cancel the wash cycle, wait until it drains, repeat and same thing happens, at about the same time in the wash cycle. Are there any suggestions on what else we should check? Could the control board not be sending the appropriate voltage to pump at that part of the cycle for some reason due to a CB malfunction? We are thinking of ordering the control board next, but not sure if this is the best route.
We ran the diagnostics and get the error codes: 6-1, 6-4, and 8-2. The dishwasher fills and drains properly, and does seem to work perfect for part of the wash cycle (we hear the water, and the sounds of it spraying through the arms). Maybe 20/30 min into the wash cycle, it gets to a point where it drains, then starts buzzing at a time when we think it should start to move water again (like it did earlier in the cycle). The buzzing sound is clearly coming from the circulation pump (can also feel the pump vibrating with the sound) and it is not coming on to pump water (yet works flawlessly earlier in the cycle, even if we cancel and repeat).
Any assistance would be appreciated! We do suspect the control board, but was wondering if others may have a different conclusion based on our symptoms (first time troubleshooting a dishwasher, so we may be missing something obvious).
