Model Number: PFSS6PKXBSS
Brand: GE
Age: 1-5 years
My GE refrigerator started making loud noise from the ice maker. I've read this forum and was able to remove the unit and verified the ice maker model number which is DA97-05422A. Unfortunately, the date has faded and couldn't be read. I will go ahead and order the replacement ice maker.
I've also read the GE service bulletin for units made before March 2008, and since mine is made in March 2009, I would assume that I don't need the main circuit board. But it does suffer the same symptoms described in the bulletin, e.g. grinding noise and low ice production.
My question here is do I need the circuit board? or will the ice maker alone fix the problems? Thanks.
