    Unhappy Samsung Dryer

    Model Number: DV330AEW/XAA 01
    Brand: Samsung
    Age: 6-10 years

So I have this Dryer that we have had for a while and it has been excellent. Recently the heating element went out. I ordered a new one that came with both of the thermostats new, and installed it. BUT, as soon as I started the dryer to test it, it blew the brand new element. There was a slight dim in the ceiling lights when it happened for just a fraction of a second. Someone told me it was my house electrical. I have checked everything on that circuit. I has its own dedicated 30 amp 220 volt circuit.

So, my question for this forum is... What do I do now? Do I spend the money to buy a new kit? Normally I would just buy a new dryer, but in these hard time it is not in my budget.

Sounds like to me the heater coil was shorted to the frame. Always check coil to frame for continuity before you apply power to it in the machine.
