Replace main board WR55x10942 but refrigerator is not cooling down

    Model Number: PFS22MISBWW
    Brand: GE
    Age: 1-5 years

I was advised to replace the main board because the Refrigerators cooling was unstable, the digital temp. controls had gone out and there was a loud clicking noise. I have replaced the board now and I do have a digital readout again but after leaving it on for about 15 hr., there is no change in the temp. read out after plugging it back in. There is a clicking noise that seems to be coming from around the compressor. I'm not sure the compressor is coming on. Is there some kind of reset process to start things up or am I dealing with another issue.

I think you are dealing with another issue. Sometimes when the main board fails, it will stop running the condenser fan motor behind the refrigerator. This causes it to get very hot behind the refrigerator and it will burn out the start device on the compressor. If you are getting a clicking noise coming from the compressor, then you either have a bad start device or a bad compressor that isn't starting. I would unplug the refrigerator and remove the old start device and shake it. If it rattles and small little black specs fall out of it, then it is bad and it will need to be replaced. Let me know what you find.

This is the start device for your refrigerator (also called a start relay):
