Motor does run, machine agitates, but the spin doesn't work. We have noticed for months now that we have to re-spin the clothes, as they are often (not always) still soaked after a normal cycle.

Action taken: replaced the drive coupler. The old one was worn, but not broken... this didn't fix the issue. Seemed like the brake was stuck in place, but I sadly didn't own the spanner wrench, couldn't completely disassemble it. I did hotwire the lid switch and verify that the transmission is working.

I manually forced the tub to turn before I reassembled (it was stuck in place); it has worked for about a week since. Today, it is seized up again.

I've ordered a spanner wrench to allow me to properly take everything apart. What would cause the brake to stick like this?
