I've just finished an afternoon of troubleshooting an older Samsung dryer with no heat and I'd love for someone with more experience to chime in and tell me if my diagnosis sounds right.
I've checked the heating element, thermal sensors/fuses/thermister, centrifugal switch, voltage coming in, etc....all the usual stuff...more than once. I've got 120v on the red line at the heating element but nothing on the blue line.
With the motor running I have confirmed that the centrifugal switch is working and I'm getting 120v on both the heater line (red) and the secondary line (brown) when the motor starts up. I assume the brown line on that harness is a signal line to the control board to tell the heater relay to close and send the other 120v to the heater via the blue line?
However, with the motor running I'm not seeing 120v on the element side of the relay on the control board (blue wire) but definitely have 120v on the supply side (black).
Based on what I've read here and several videos, this tells me the control board is bad.
Am I missing something?
Appreciate any input, thanks!
