Aluminum foil burnt on bottom of oven, damaged trying to remove, now pitted and rusty

    Model Number: WOC54EC7AS01
    Brand: Whirlpool
    Age: 1-5 years

I was sick when my husband put aluminum foil in the bottom of our brand new oven and it burnt and stuck on. He was trying to protect it from drips. Neither of us knew you aren't supposed to put foil on the bottom of an electric oven with hidden coils. Then we damaged it more trying to remove the foil. We got the foil off, and it still works fine, but the bottom looks awful, and now a couple of years later it's rusty and pitted. I can't find where you can replace the entire cavity. Is there anything we can do to stop the rusting and hopefully make it look better? We are thinking about trying high heat epoxy.
