Fridge is about 5 years old at this point. My ice dispenser is giving me a bit of a hassle these days. Actually I think it is the switch that activates the ice/water dispenser. The dispensers themselves I believe are working fine, but when I put a cup down and push in on the plastic piece to activate the dispenser, quite often these days nothing is happening. I have to sorta fiddle with it a bit and maybe try a few times or push in on the cup extra hard. I took the ice dispenser door assembly off, and I know that there is a switch that activates the assembly to either dispense ice or water on that door assembly. Honestly, I'm guessing here, but my engineering brain says that's what's going on and the switch in that assembly needs replacing. Problem is, I don't know that for sure. I did take the whole thing apart and take that switch out to see a part # and then put it back together again. Some pics are attached to this post. After taking that switch completely off and putting it back on again, it seems to be working ok again. Do I still replace the switch? Do I replace the door assembly? I do see a couple different switches in the parts list for the fridge. Which one in particular are we talking about here? Need a little guidance on figuring this out please. Happy to talk by phone in near future if someone wants to do a little extra diagnosis and can walk me through some steps. Hope to hear from someone soon. Cheers,
