    [FIXED] Ice maker not working and filter light will not reset

    Model Number: PFSF6PKXAWW
    Brand: GE
    Age: 1-5 years

    The ice maker stoped making ice and noticed the plastic arm on the side of the ice maker will not drop down anymore. Removed it and found ice stuck in ice maker and fingers to remove ice cubes stuck in the down position. Removed stuck ice. Still will not work after reinstalling. Held the test button and will not do anything. Also the change filter light will not reset after holding the reset button. It will beep after 5 seconds of holding the button but light will not turn off. Found service bulletin #ASC20071012001. Inspected ice maker model# IMC701, Mfg date - 2008 06 27. Inspected software version on circut board on rear of fridge, and that is 2.10. Should I replace the ice maker and the circut board? Thank you for any help that can be provided.

    It sounds like you have a bad ice maker. The service bulletin that you are referring to is for Samsung refrigerators. According to your model number, your refrigerator already has the newer software version. If you are following the directions in the owners manual to reset the filter light, and it won't reset, then you could have a bad control board or user interface control board. Let me know what you find.

    replaced the ice maker assy as reccomended and works fine now. the filter light still wont reset but i can live with that instead of replacing the board. thanks again.

    I am glad the ice maker is fixed. If you end up finding out the problem with the filter light, let me know what the cause of the problem was.
