Question about replacing my GE smart water filter

    Model Number: GWF01
    Brand: GE
    Age: 1-5 years

Hey, I have a quick questions please - I need to order some replacement filters for my refrigerator. Long long overdue.
So I found (I believe) the right one: Ge mwf - but it shows an "adapter" for sale as well. Do these also need to be replaced? How often? Should I get on with the 3pack?

    Thank you!!

    Hi Julie,

The "adapter" is only needed when replacing older filter part number FXRC, FXRT, MXRC, HXRT, WR97X10006, & 46-9905. It lets the older refrigerators use the new style MWF filter, and it is only needed to be purchased once. It looks like your refrigerator should not need the adapter if it has a GWF01 filter in it currently, so you should be fine to purchase just the MWF filter itself.
