Checked the element and had it tested - it's fine. First replaced the thermostats on the heating element side. this worked for a load then wouldn't turn on again [the timer does come on so I know it's getting electricity]. Replaced the thermal fuse and it worked for a load but got too hot and stopped. Then replaced all 3 thermostats and the thermal fuse again. It didn't appear to overheat at all this time and when I tested it with just the blower the heating element did not come on so I thought it was good to go. I did one small load on Medium and it did not overheat and dried normally to the end of the timing cycle but will not come on again. It is clean as a whistle so it's not lint and the vent is clean. I replaced the door latch a month ago when that was the issue. It's about 7 years old and I did replace the heating element once because this dryer vents out of the roof and the vent is smaller than it should be so I have to be vigilant about keeping the vent clean. Out of ideas...
