[FIXED] Help! My KitchenAid Dishwasher's Door is Falling Open

Hi, our KitchenAid dishwasher that we have had for quite a while, the door recently started falling open (it nearly slams down). Do you have any ideas of what would cause this? This has been a good dishwasher and I would hate to replace it if it can be fixed.

This type of problem is usually caused by one or both of the ropes that attaches the door hinge to the door spring breaks. When the ropes break, the door will fall open or slam down. It is a pretty cheap fix, Whirlpool sell both of the parts together in a kit and both the left and right sides should be replaced at the same time. The dishwasher has to get pulled out from under the counter, so that is usually the hardest part of the repair. Let me know what you find.

I ordered the parts from your store, and they showed up the very next day! I followed the instructions from your video, they were very helpful. I didn't have to fully remove the dishwasher, I only had to pull the dishwasher out about halfway. I got the parts installed all by myself and my husband was amazed! Thank you so much for your help!

By the way, your parts were original Whirlpool parts and they were about the same price as most of the other places were charging for cheap aftermarket parts. You can't beat that!
