[FIXED] GE Side-by-Side - Fridge is too cold, temp reads too high

    Model Number: PSC23PSTSS
    Brand: GE
    Age: 6-10 years

GE Profile/Arctica with dual evap recently started showing fridge temp too high (46-55), but fridge is actually in the low 30s. Freezer is fine. Ran through the diagnostics and everything passed except for test 0,3 (temperature control panel to dispenser board communication) and test 0,4 (dispenser board to main control board communication), but those don't seem like they would affect the temperature. I was expecting a bad thermistor to show up, but they all passed. I have not put any of them on a meter to verify proper resistance.

I replaced the main board a few years ago and am hoping not to have to do that again. What are your thoughts on the two test failures and/or the cause of my problem?

    Thanks in advance.

    Ben

    Ben,

I would also start by testing or replacing the thermistor(s) in the refrigerator section. Let me know what you find.

This is the thermistor for your model:

One of the thermistors tested bad at the board, so I replaced it and all's well with the FF temp now. Looks like the other tests failing had nothing to do with the problem. Of course, now I'm left wondering what the failures on those tests might be causing!

    Thanks!
