Will keep running even after door is opened

DISHWASER WILL KEEP RUNNING IF DOOR IS OPENED DURING WASH CYCLE. DOESNT FEEL LIKE IT IS LATCHING. METAL LATCH IS STILL THERE SEEMS LIKE ITS SOMETHING IN THE DOOR. ALSO WILL HAVE ERR CODE AT TIME.

What error code are you getting? It sounds like there could be something broken with the door latch assembly and/or door strike. I would shut off the power to the dishwasher and pull the door apart to access the door latch. Inspect the door latch assembly and look for anything broken or not functioning correct with it. Let me know what you find.

It also came on by itself and will.make weird sound and the code was er code with small letters all around the er. Had to shut the power off to get it to stop.

If the dishwasher is starting by itself, then you most likely have a failed main control board and/or failed touchpad. Let me know what you find as the cause of the problem(s).
