Whirlpool Electric Dryer Won't Start

We need some help figuring out why our dryer won't start.
I press the start button and it is totally dead. My Dad is handy with a volt ohm meter and has tested the voltage supply, which is good (240 Volts). The thermal fuses seem good too. You can hear the timer motor humming... so there is power there.
What is next to check?

Unplug the dryer.
Remove the cover to terminal block and be sure the wiring is intact (not burned),
Then remove the back cover to the control panel and check the push to start switch for continuity.
Referencing the wiring diagram (located in the console), check the timer contacts for continuity.
If either of these tests fail, replace with the appropriate part.
