Samsung DV42H5200EF/A3 Turns off within a few minutes

    Model Number: DV42H5200EF/A3
    Brand: Samsung
    Age: 1-5 years

Similar situation as a few others. But basically it turns off within a few minutes after starting. It definitely warms up, I don't smell any burning. We put in a "normal" load, and that's where it would stop. I turn it back on, and the "check filter" light blinks. So now we've halved the load and it seems to work. Could be moisture sensor. But when I tried to replace it, just can't seem to get the lint trap off. When I looked behind the dryer and took the vent tubing off, the lint that was trapped in there felt wet. But the tubing (the accordion type), was not clogged. Not even sure where to start. Please help me troubleshoot and diagnose. Willing to try anything. This happened a few months ago, and it started happening again this weekend.

    YouTube links would be helpful.

Below is some info on this unit

Can you restart the unit right after it shuts down?
If you have to wait several minutes then I would suspect the motor re: it is overheating and tripping it's internal thermal protect. You then have to wait for the motor to cool down and the protect to reset before it will start again.

If this is the case try turning the drum in the correct direction by hand. It should turn fairly easily. You may want to try this on a couple other units to get a feel for it.

If it is hard to turn then check the drum support rollers etc.

I can restart it right after, don't ever have to wait.
I actually don't get any error code.
Just a flashing "check filter" light when I turn it on.

I would open it up and check/clean the interior including the drum vents, blower wheel , motor etc.
