How to open my bottom freezer cover?

    Model Number: PFS22SISBSS
    Brand: GE
    Age: 6-10 years

    Hello PartsDr:

I have a six years old GE Bottom freezer Refrigerator. Model number is PFS22SISBSS. I want to check defrost heater and defrost thermostats. But I don't know how to open the cover for my freezer. Could you tell me?

    Thanks

First unplug the refrigerator, next you will need to remove the freezer drawer, interior shelves and baskets, and ice maker if you have one. With these things removed you should have access to the rear cover. There are usually one or two screws that you will need to remove from the cover and you should be able to pull it out remove it.
