My Kitchenaid (POS) Dishwasher locks up after every cycle. the error code flashes 7 times. the research I've done indicates this means the thermal control is not functioning. I can reset the control board by unplugging the unit for 5 minutes and then pressing the High temp and Sani-Wash buttons 10 times (5 times each). this works most of the time but others i have to repeat the process. my guess is i need to replace at least the thermal control board and most likely the main control board. but i cant find the model number in your data base. could you provide me the part numbers and confirm if i'm correct in my assumption. thank you.

The clean light blinking 7 times indicates a water heating fault. Which means the computer sensed that the water inside the dishwasher didn't reach a certain temperature within a certain amount of time. There are quite a few different things that can cause this issue.

This is what I have seen cause this problem:

Bad heating element
Bad control board
Bad temperature thermistor (sends water temp reading back to the control board)
Dishwasher not filling up with enough water (bad water inlet valve or bad plumbing to dishwasher)
Bad pump that circulates the water

If you remove the bottom panel of the dishwasher there is a tech sheet located behind that panel. Check all of the parts that are listed under the water heating circuit on the tech sheet. Let us know what you find.
