    washer doesn't completely drain

    Model Number: wf419aaw
    Brand: Samsung
    Age: 1-5 years

Front load washer doesn't drain completely after doing the wash cycle a few times would show "nd" code meaning not draining . Had service guy come out who said all the lines are clear and no kinks anywhere. Said the problem was she was using to much detergent resulting in suds and if she cut back on amount of detergent it should fix the problem. Still having same problem?

Can you still see water sitting in the tub of the washer when the error code appears?

If nothing is clogged in the lines going to and from the drain pump, then the drain pump might be bad. To test the pump you would need to check to see if 120v is going to the pump motor. If the motor has 120v and the pump motor is not running and draining the water then you should replace the drain pump.

They sell the drain pump as an assembly or just the pump motor for your model washer:

    Drain Pump Assembly - Part # PD00001990 (mfg # DC96-01700A)

    Drain Pump - Part # PD00001978 (mfg # DC31-00054A)

So wife had service guy come out again, opened unit and showed me where the line inside was extremely dirty and clogged. Said we will need a spin basket replacement as it is probably very dirty also. My question now is can I clean it myself is it necessary to replace?

It sounds like you might have the same problem as the people that posted in this thread.
