I have a strange problem that I am hoping someone can help diagnose. The oven in my Whirlpool range will not heat unless one of the stove burners is on. When the oven is turned on, the igniter will glow red hot but the gas will not turn on no matter how long I wait. A few seconds after I turn on a stove burner, the gas in the oven will start to flow and ignite. It looks like, if I turn the stove burner off the oven will still come up to temp but once the gas shuts off it will not turn back on to maintain temp. So, to cook something in the oven the stove burner has to remain on the whole time. I don't see anything in the stove assembly that would effect the oven circuit. I found a post on this forum from someone with the same problem over a year and a half ago but there were no responses. Anyone have any ideas?
