Ice maker water running WAY too long

    Model Number: MFX2571XEM2
    Brand: Whirlpool
    Age: 6-10 years

Ice maker just started running WAY too long (approx 17 sec). Excess water dumps in the ice bin cause a block of ice. I tried adjusting screw on ice maker module to no avail. So I replaced ice maker motor module (8201515). Same result. My research said it could be the dual water valve (67006322) so I replaced that. Still not luck. History: The water inlet valve was bypassed when the water reservoir tank and filter head (W10502642) was replaced.

What could be causing the ice maker to call for water for 17 sec?

Follow up: Does the water inlet valve (WPW10270395 that was bypassed) control flow rate/pressure?
