Fisher and Paykel - Removing top of washer

    Model Number: WL4227J1
    Brand: Other
    Age: 6-10 years

So I have a Fisher and Paykel Washing Machine, and it has the seemingly common problem of going out of balance while it spins out about half way through the wash cycle. No matter how few of clothes I put in the machine or how evenly I distribute them, the drum hits the side of the machine once it starts spinning fast and shuts down.

So the big thing I need to know how to do is remove the top of the washer in order to look at what pieces are going bad. I tried to find something on youtube on how to do this, but everything I see is for a different style of washing machine. For instance, the parts doctor video is for a machine that has two screw covers that you pop out, followed by removing two screws and then just lifting the top panel. On mine, it doesn't have screws like that. There are screws in the back that allow the lid to start lifting up, but it only goes so far before the front two corners prevent it from coming all the way off. Any ideas on how to get this first step of the process complete?
