    Question Can't remove screws

    Model Number: 665
    Brand: Sears Kenmore
    Age: More than 10 years

I have a Sears Kenmore dishwasher that came with my house when I bought it. I am guessing it is over 10 years old but I can't say for sure. The dishwasher works fine except for the soap container. The latch is broken so it's always open and the soap gets dumped into the dishwasher when you close the door instead of when the wash cycle starts.

I bought a replacement latch and want to install it but I can't get the screws to unscrew on the inside of the dishwasher door so that I can remove the internal plate and get to the soap latch. I am using a T15 bit and it's just slightly too big to get it into the screws. I'm guessing the screws have warped over the years and worked fine with a T15 at one point. A T10 is way too small. I'm guessing even once I get a bit in there I'm going to deal with some rusty screws not wanting to leave the machine.

How did I get these stinking screws out?
