    New Washer Pump Very Hot

    Model Number: WFW9150WW01
    Brand: Whirlpool
    Age: 6-10 years

I recently installed a new washer pump I received from partsdr in my Whirlpool Duet washer. It has fixed the error code and it seems to be working fine now. I believe it was E2F9 (2 flashes, then 9 flashes). However the pump now gets very hot and you can smell it. Is this normal? Or is there something additional wrong with my washer?

That does not sound normal for a pump to get that hot. These pumps do not have a 100% duty cycle, so you will want to make sure that you are testing it under normal conditions with the washer going through a normal wash cycle. Also, check to make sure the drain is clear and free of any obstructions and that the drain hose has not been modified or extended.
