Hello Parts Dr.,

We recently bought a house, with Jenn-Air appliances.

The fridge (unsure as to exact age) seems to be working properly, but is making some very odd sounds:

Can you narrow down where the noise is coming from?

It appears to be coming from whatever the (somewhat) circular panel is covering at the rear of the top shelf.

If I hold my hand up against it while the noise is happening, it feels like its vibrating a bit.

Behind that cover is the damper control assembly. The damper has a door that opens and closes to control the cold air from the freezer compartment into the refrigerator compartment. If this part is working properly, you shouldn't hear much noise coming from it. You may need to take it apart to do a further inspection.
